The Friday Reminder and Prompt for #SoCS June 22/19

Here’s your prompt:

Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “leaves.” Use it as a noun or a verb. Have fun!

Here are the rules from Linda Hill:

1. Your post must be stream of consciousness writing, meaning no editing (typos can be fixed), and minimal planning on what you’re going to write.

2. Your post can be as long or as short as you want it to be. One sentence – one thousand words. Fact, fiction, poetry – it doesn’t matter. Just let the words carry you along until you’re ready to stop.

3. I will post the prompt here on my blog every Friday, along with a reminder for you to join in. The prompt will be one random thing, but it will not be a subject. For instance, I will not say “Write about dogs”; the prompt will be more like, “Make your first sentence a question,” “Begin with the word ‘The,’” or will simply be a single word to get you started.

4. Pingback! It’s important so that I and other people can come and read your post! For example, in your post, you can write “This post is part of SoCS:” and then copy and paste the URL found in your address bar at the top of this post into yours.  Your link will show up in my comments for everyone to see. The most recent pingbacks will be found at the top. NOTE: Pingbacks only work from WordPress sites. If you’re self-hosted or are participating from another host, such as Blogger, please leave a link to your post in the comments below.

5. Read at least one other person’s blog who has linked back their post. Even better, read all of them! If you’re the first person to link back, you can check back later or go to the previous week by following my category, “Stream of Consciousness Saturday,” which you’ll find below the “Like” button on my post.

6. Copy and paste the rules (if you’d like to) in your post. The more people who join in, the more new bloggers you’ll meet and the bigger your community will get!

7. As a suggestion, tag your post “SoCS” and/or “#SoCS” for more exposure and more views.

8. Have fun!

The leaves here block my view. I am living on the 6th floor so the trees are below me. I have to look really far out over the tops of them if I want to see anything in the warm weather. When they fall in the fall I can see what is around me then. But now I can’t see anything in the close area.

I am not a social person. I avoid most parties if I can. My family hates my excuses for not coming even if they are real. My social life consists of going to brunch with my BFF on Sundays. I don’t have to deal with the family drama there.

Silence is golden. I live in an apartment building, a high rise and that means noise from both sides and top and bottom and occasionally the people across the hall are loud. The doors slam (they have to automatically shut by law for safety purposes) at all hours. I do believe the concrete floors do help deaden the sound somewhat. They also hurt like hell when you fall and land on your knees. I know that from personal contact with those floors with my knees.

Going to be a grandmom again in December. Daughter is almost 40 so having a rough time, but baby doing good.

Cozy apartments make me jealous. My place is always such a mess. I don’t have the inclination to clean and I am unorganized as all get out. Right now I am in such pain that cleaning is not going to happen. I already had my inspection so that shouldn’t happen anytime soon. Hopefully, I can get it straightened up by the time they come in to put my new kitchen floor in at the beginning of June.

However, any exertion gives me rosy cheeks. It doesn’t take much.

Barely moving and I am struggling to breathe. It got so bad that combined with the swelling of my feet and legs caused me a trip to the hospital and a 4-day stay. They thought I had a clot in my groin. They did 2 ultrasounds just to make sure and decided that I didn’t have a clot thankfully. Now as for the breathing it was determined by my pulmonary doctor that my allergies and asthma had gotten worse. Major asthma attack. I now have a nebulizer and 3 types of medicines that I have to use in it two times a day.

That was the first time that I ever slept in a hospital. I was sleeping solidly too. They kept waking me up and I would go right back to sleep.

I think I have strained something in my back plus my normal aches and pains. I can’t believe how much pain I am in right now. The percosets aren’t helping. This has been going on for at least three weeks or more. I haven’t been to visit my dad at the nursing home and I feel bad, but the trip to see him is so long that I can’t do it. I have a long walk out of my apartment to the elevators, down them and then across the building, out the door and across the lot to my car. Once there I  have a long parking lot to walk across to the lobby of the building. Then down a long wing to their elevators and the down 2-3 long wings to his section. It does me in when I am not in intense pain and I am out of it for a day or two. Right now I am already out of it so I am afraid to even try it and that is with constant stopping to sit. My dad says he understands and it’s ok. I believe him. He really worries about me so he would be upset if I came and it hurt me.

Last month my doctor took me down one pain pill per day. I was in intense pain from that and maybe I just haven’t gotten back to the full dosage of 4 pills of days. I just don’t know. This is month two of severe pain. I just don’t know what to do. Oh, and she also put me on Topamax and not sure why she did that. I ran it by my psychiatrist because I run all those types of medications by her. She doesn’t know why she would have prescribed it but doesn’t foresee a problem.

I just looked up Topamax. I am not sure what it has to do with pain issues other than migraines. I do have them occasionally though so maybe it may help, it is a very low dose. I liked the weight loss side-effect. That would be great as I am gaining weight ever since I went on insulin. I am super tired. I just fall asleep sitting in my chair writing. Not good. Can affect my Bipolar Moods which is good since my Bipolar moods are not completely under control. But like I said the dose is really small. Most adults take 200 mg twice a day. I take 25 mg once or twice a day. The top dose would be 4 times a day. Not much. I don’t know. It could cause pain if it was kidney stones, but it doesn’t say it causes them just that there could be pain if you had them. Have to keep an eye on it.

I have to admit that the first thing that came to my mind when I thought of things falling from the sky was bird poop. My son used to joke about the pterodactyl poop that used to land on my car. I have had it land on my head and then there was one day I had a new job and the only parking spot open was open for a reason. It was under the pole with all the wires coming into it and the birds would line up on it and the car below it, in this case mine, would be totally covered. My dad was kind enough to help me wash the car when I got home and I had to figure out how to get a parking spot that didn’t leave me in that position again.

When I was younger I was an expert with technology. Not much confused me for long. Now however, my memory has shrunk and my smart phone is smarter than me.

I just ordered a new phone late last night. I got it expedited to me, by way of the local Verizon store. It was ready first thing in the morning after they opened up. I didn’t have to wait for shipping.

I just ordered a few things from several companies. They all offer express shipping, but I can’t see paying that extra money when I can wait a few more days and get it for free or next to nothing.
