I weigh too much and need to find a way to lose weight. My son believes in putting whey in his shakes to help him. I don’t care for whey myself. There has to be another way.

My apartment is small and I didn’t have a couch of my own so after moving in the furniture I had I realized a couch wouldn’t fit at this point anyway.

I used to think I would like to have an astronomical amount of money. I didn’t know how much that was and of course, I was a child at the time. I know that isn’t possible really now. Although there are some people I would consider as having astronomical amounts of money compared to me.  LOL!

Still recovering from my breathing issue and trip to ER and so today I did a little cleaning and washed the dirty laundry. I had to stop frequently to slow down my breathing from the exertion and get able to move around again. Doctors still trying to diagnose and come up with a sound treatment plan. Talk of COPD rather than asthma coming up right now.

Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “frame.” Use it as a noun or a verb or any way you like. Have fun!

Here are the rules from Linda Hill:

When I hear the word frame the first word that came to mind was picture frames. I bought a bunch of them at the dollar store and I might as well have thrown the money away as they are slowly all flattening out. The cardboard back is not strong enough to hold them up. I have to see if there is some way to fix them so they stand up again. They have my grandchildren’s photos in them.

SoCS for Saturday June 29, 2019

The Friday Reminder and Prompt for #SoCS June 29/19

Here’s your prompt:

Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “for/fore/four.” Use one, use ’em all, use ’em any way you want. Bonus points for using all three. Enjoy!

Here are the rules from Linda Hill:

1. Your post must be stream of consciousness writing, meaning no editing (typos can be fixed), and minimal planning on what you’re going to write.

2. Your post can be as long or as short as you want it to be. One sentence – one thousand words. Fact, fiction, poetry – it doesn’t matter. Just let the words carry you along until you’re ready to stop.

3. I will post the prompt here on my blog every Friday, along with a reminder for you to join in. The prompt will be one random thing, but it will not be a subject. For instance, I will not say “Write about dogs”; the prompt will be more like, “Make your first sentence a question,” “Begin with the word ‘The,’” or will simply be a single word to get you started.

4. Pingback! It’s important so that I and other people can come and read your post! For example, in your post, you can write “This post is part of SoCS:” and then copy and paste the URL found in your address bar at the top of this post into yours.  Your link will show up in my comments for everyone to see. The most recent pingbacks will be found at the top. NOTE: Pingbacks only work from WordPress sites. If you’re self-hosted or are participating from another host, such as Blogger, please leave a link to your post in the comments below.

5. Read at least one other person’s blog who has linked back their post. Even better, read all of them! If you’re the first person to link back, you can check back later or go to the previous week by following my category, “Stream of Consciousness Saturday,” which you’ll find below the “Like” button on my post.

6. Copy and paste the rules (if you’d like to) in your post. The more people who join in, the more new bloggers you’ll meet and the bigger your community will get!

7. As a suggestion, tag your post “SoCS” and/or “#SoCS” for more exposure and more views.

8. Have fun!

My Building – half of it anyhow

Before I lived here in this close-knit high-rise, I would have never believed how different it is then living in a small apartment complex which is usually two stories or a single home. There are eight floors here and approximately 100 apartments in total. We are so close together that we are only separated by hallways. I open my door at the same time as the neighbor across the hall and we collide. We have to have elevators since this is for the disabled (me) and the elderly (I am slowly being considered elderly in more places all the time). I am almost 63. This is the only highrise in the area so you can see it from all directions. It took some getting used to, but now I like it here. I like having people around me. I feel safer. I don’t like the sixth floor, but at least the scenery is nice up here. Last fourth of July I watched at least 8 to 9 different fireworks shows and the one closest to me provided the sounds. It was quite a nice show and I didn’t even have to open my window or turn the air conditioner off.

This lifestyle is definitely not for all people. Some move in and right back out. My ex would hate this kind of living. He likes having his own house. I like not having to rake or shovel which you have to do in your own home. If something breaks down I call maintenance and they take care of it. I plan to live in this place as long as I can or until I pass away. Since it is public housing there is always the possibility that someone can come along and shut it down.
