So the question this week is this:

Do you believe that one can be moral without believing in God or being religious, or do you believe that you must believe in God in order to have a moral compass and to live a moral life?

I do believe that you can be moral without believing in God. There are plenty of moral people who do not believe in God and for 40 years I didn’t either, but I am a moral person. I do believe in God now, but it doesn’t change who I am.

Fandango’s Provocative Question #32

For this week’s provocative question, I am going to do something I haven’t before done in my provocative question prompt. I’m going to post something a fellow blogger wrote. In this case, the blogger is Judy Dykstra-Brown, and in one of her recent posts she wrote,

“I do believe that more evil has been done in this world by those absolutely sure of the rightness of their faith and their beliefs.”

So my question is this: do you agree with what Judy wrote? Why or why not?

I do agree with what Judy wrote. I have long thought that people who claimed to be free of evil and preached their goodness over evil were full of it and were more evil than those that didn’t preach about their goodness. I also can’t stand those good old boys and how they think they are better than others.

Fandango’s Provocative Question #29

So here’s my question:

“Do you agree with Thomas Jefferson that it doesn’t matter or hurt you if people believe in many gods, in one god, or no gods? Why or why not?”

I don’t believe it matters how many gods one believes in or even if one believes in gods. I believe the way we behave is through our own choices and not whether we believe in a god or 20 of them. I didn’t believe in God for 40 years. I had God pushed down my throat as a child and couldn’t understand why someone who was supposed to be good would allow all the badness in this world. I just recently in the last 5 years or so began to believe in God. One God.

The reason I changed my mind was that someone said to me that God wasn’t here to prevent bad things from happening, but to help us deal with these bad things. Now that made sense in a way and so I have changed my mind to a point. I am wondering if he is really helping me deal with how my life has turned out because it is really bad from my viewpoint, although I know it could be worse.

Fandango’s Provocative Question #28

So here’s my question:

“Do you believe that Donald Trump is an effective American president who should remain in office despite having accepted aid from a foreign adversary (Russia) and having committed obstruction of justice into the investigation of Russian interference in the 2016 Presidential elections? Do you believe that Trump should or should not be impeached for his actions? Why?”

I believe he should be impeached absolutely. He is uncouth, a liar, and definitely not good for our country.

Fandango’s Provocative Question #27

So today’s provocative question is all about Unidentified Flying Objects, or UFOs:

“If you could choose one — and only one — particular malady, condition, or disease for which a safe and effective treatment was available, what one condition would you choose to treat and why is that your choice?”

I would choose Diabetes. I started as a Type 2 Diabetic. Slowly over the years, I got worse. A couple of years ago I started to use insulin and was an insulin dependent diabetic. Now I no longer make my own insulin and I am a Type 1 Diabetic with an insulin pump that constantly pumps insulin through my body. It is attached to my body and always in the way. I didn’t mind the 4 x a day injections, but my doctor said this would control my sugars better and he is right. I have to change the infusion site every 3 days rather than 4 injections a day.

Fandango’s Provocative Question #26

So today’s provocative question is all about Unidentified Flying Objects, or UFOs:

“Do you believe that there is a perfectly reasonable explanation for these sightings, like unannounced or unauthorized drone flights or space junk falling back into the atmosphere, or do you think that the objects these pilots saw were actual UFOs?”

I do believe in UFOs. My dad and I have done lots of studying the information available both on tv and even on http://www.youtube.com. We definitely believe that the government is behind a cover-up of the subject. Some of these shows I have seen are quite believable. I may be crazy, but I believe there is something out there.

Fandango’s Provocative Question #25 #FPQ

Fandango’s Provocative Question #25

“Where do you believe you were you before you were born and what do you believe will happen to you after you die?”

Now for me, I believe in reincarnation. I believe that in the life before this one I was burned to death because as a young child I had horrendous nightmares and saw walls of fire around me. I described this as much as possible to my parents who couldn’t figure out why I was so terrified of fire (not bonfires, but buildings). When I was older I did a past life regression and it came up with me dying in a fire and since it was so close to my own birth that I had these visions and dreams we figured it happened in the life just prior to this one.

As for what will happen to me after I die, I do believe in heaven. We had a medium come in after my mother passed away and they described her words and what she said was there to welcome us. Older souls eventually are reincarnated if they choose to be.

It all depends on your beliefs.
