Water Everywhere?

(Continued from last 2 weeks and the week before)

By Teresa Smeigh 2019

As Myra surveyed the emptiness around her except for the little guys with the arrows. She was frantic to find her family.

There was a large crack of thunder and that storm that had been threatening over at the fast food restaurant suddenly broke loose and started to pour.

As she watched, the little guy standing in front of her car and pointing his arrow at her was struck by the pouring rain and he simply disappeared. She looked around and not only were the little guys disappearing, but the townspeople were reappearing in the positions they had been in when they were shot and disappeared.

The rain continued and from her position, the little guys were gone. Her friends were reappearing, and the carnival runway was packed with customers scrambling for cover from the rain.

She didn’t know what was happening other than that water made the little guys disappear and her friends were reappearing. This must be the secret. The rain melted them. She looked at their pyramid and slowly watched it disappear into a pile of dirt as the rain continued to pour. Her son and husband knocked on her car window. They were all safe.

Rules from Susan, the host of Sunday Photo Fiction:

Welcome to 2019 and Sunday Photo Fiction! Each week I will post a new photograph, taken either by myself or donated by a member of the community. The challenge is to write a story using 200 words or less based, on the prompt. When you are done, post your story and the photo prompt on your blog. Make sure you give proper credit when using the photo.  Use the “Click Here to Enter”  icon to add your story to the SPF collection. While you are there, take time to read and comment on some of the other stories. I know you will not be disappointed.

Three Things Challenge: PL108

Three Things Challenge: PL108

Rules from Paula:

Welcome to the Three Things Challenge. Every day at 10PM (PST) I will post three seemingly unconnected things that will, hopefully, ignite your muse. You don’t have to use all three things if you don’t want to. There are no restrictions on length, style, genre, or anything. Simply read the prompt, see where your muse takes you, and bring us along for the ride. Use 3TC as a tag if you’d like and link back to this prompt, or post your link in the comments below so others can find you.

Happy Writing! 😀

Today’s prompt: shower, crab, bologna

**************************

By Teresa Smeigh 2019

Sherry was eating a bologna sandwich while she stared at the ocean. She was feeling sticky from the salt so she headed for the outdoor shower. She came face-to-face with a crab in the shower. She managed to shoo him out so she didn’t have to share the shower with him.

“I don’t know what it is, but it sure smells good,” John yelled across the yard at his neighbor Reggie. “I am glad we decided to have this potluck barbecue.”

“Hey John do you see the catsup?”

“No, but why does that gnome have red stuff all over his mouth?”

They both contemplated the gnome.

Today’s prompt: How do you release your stress?

THE HAUNTED WORDSMITH

********************

By Teresa Smeigh 2019

Sometimes writing will relax me if I can get into something I really want to write and I don’t have to think a lot about it. Sometimes reading will do it, if I am not so stressed that I can’t sit still. Also, binge-watching something if it interests me enough.
