Three Things Challenge: PL107

Three Things Challenge: PL107

Rules from Paula:

Welcome to the Three Things Challenge. Every day at 10PM (PST) I will post three seemingly unconnected things that will, hopefully, ignite your muse. You don’t have to use all three things if you don’t want to. There are no restrictions on length, style, genre, or anything. Simply read the prompt, see where your muse takes you, and bring us along for the ride. Use 3TC as a tag if you’d like and link back to this prompt, or post your link in the comments below so others can find you.

Happy Writing! 😀

Today’s prompt: memorialhamburgerfrisbee

By Teresa Smeigh 2019

It was Memorial Day and our town held a barbecue after the parade and services for those servicemen who had given up their lives for our country.

I reached over and picked up a hamburger and as I brought it to my mouth a frisbee smacked the burger right out of my hand and both the burger and the frisbee ended up in my lap.

Weekend Writing Prompt #108 – Mercurial – by Sammi Cox

Weekend Writing Prompt #108 – Mercurial – by Sammi Cox

Sammi Cox’s Rules:

The challenge is simple: each week you will be given an exact number of words you can use to write a poem or piece of prose.  You can use any format or style you like; go wherever your inspiration takes you.  The only rules are these:

  • your poem/prose must contain this week’s word.  The word does not have to count towards the exact word count total – it can be in the title, or the first letters of the lines of a poem can spell it out – you can be as creative as you want as long as it’s there somewhere.
  • the length of your poem/prose must match the number of words stated in this week’s challenge.  No more.  No less.

*************continuation from last weekend**************

Robby didn’t count on his wife’s mercurial personality. Connie was starting to stalk them. Once found, she said, “Oh Robby, this is for you!”

Half expecting a gun, he turned, and she shoved divorce papers into his hand.

#WEEKENDCOFFEESHARE : book really coming along, still waiting for my new kitchen floor.

#WEEKENDCOFFEESHARE : book really coming along, still waiting for my new kitchen floor.

Directions from ECLECTICALLI

Weekend Coffee Share is a time for us to take a break out of our lives and enjoy some time catching up with friends (old and new)!

Grab a cup of coffee and share with us! What’s been going on in your life? What are your weekend plans? Is there a topic you’ve just been ruminating on that you want to talk about?

All are welcome! Just add your link to the Linky-List, and be sure to visit others and join in their conversations! The link will be open from Friday, February 8th at 7am (Pacific Time) until Monday, February 11th at 7am (Pacific Time) to give us a good range of “weekend”!

*********************************

If we were to have a coffee chat this weekend or for me ice tea for sure since I don’t drink coffee and it is too hot for hot tea, I would tell you that I am flying through the first draft of my book. The two chapters I am fairly happy with have been posted on the blog just follow the book page.

We have been promised new kitchen floors and I am still waiting for mine. What I have is really nasty and impossible to get the dirt off of and of course, the yellowing is permanent.

My daughter, who is almost 40, is pregnant again. We have a new grandchild on the horizon barring any more problems.

I would also remind you that Sunday is the weekly brunch with my BFF. The weather is really hot and humid which means my breathing will be affected again. I am still having a problem breathing even with the nebulizer treatments.
