Watch Out!
By Teresa Smeigh 2019
Heather was walking, talking and gesturing with her hands like she always does. She was excited about her new boyfriend and telling Susan that she thinks he’s the one, when Susan suddenly grabs Heather’s arm and yanks her back hard enough that they both fall to the pavement. “You must pay attention,” she gasps out. “You almost walked in front of the bus.” Susan was crying over the near miss, but Heather ignores her and goes on talking about the new boyfriend.
