Tuesday at Ten { I truly believe . . . }

Tuesday at Ten { I truly believe . . . }

New Tuesday at Ten logo - 5-21-15
Welcome to Tuesday at Ten! The Tuesday blog Link up where you have 6 full days to use the “prompt phrase” as a part of your writing.

Each week I post a prompt phrase and you finish the phrase and write how that phrase fits you and your life or your thoughts.

Whether it be just writing a story behind the phrase or being as creative as you wish using photos, poems, art, or graphics – whichever creative way you choose.

You have 6 days to write and link up your blog at the bottom of the page so that others can link up with you.

Be sure to visit your “link up” neighbor and spread the joy of connection! A new Prompt word is posted every Tuesday Morning at 10am, the link up closes at 11pm the night before.

Every Monday evening (the day before the new word is posted) I will choose ONE highlighted writer of the week to be highlighted and shared on the Tuesday at Ten Facebook page for all to see. You will also get an award graphic for that week to post on your blog.

Make sure to visit the Tuesday at Ten Facebook page to view the winner and for daily news!

Remember  – it’s not about being perfect, it’s about being YOU. Have FUN!

Today’s Prompt PHRASE is { I truly believe . . . . .  }

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I truly believe that God wants me to be an advocate for Invisible Illnesses and help those that need support.  I believe he wants me to speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves. Who else would know what we need, than someone who already suffers from numerous Invisible Illnesses herself?
Those of us with Invisible Illnesses are usually treated unfairly. We are considered drug seekers. We are considered attention seekers. We are called lazy and useless. Emergency Rooms do not want to treat us, they figure we are just seeking attention or drugs. We are considered to be seeking to not work and live on the measly pittance the government gives us to live on. No one can live on that.
People actually think we like living this way. Not only are we treated badly, but we suffer pain both mentally and physically. Those of us with these conditions would rather work than suffer the pain we are put through on a daily basis. Some days are worse than others.
Why would we want to miss out on the finer things in life to hole up in our houses, if we are still able to afford one, and miss out on the fun that is available to those of this world who are normal?
I am going to do what I can to help those who have a need for advocacy and for myself as well. It is time people realize that we aren’t making up these illnesses and that we need to be treated normally as any other illness would be treated.
Day Two: Take Control of Your Title and Tagline – Blogging 101
Day Two: Take Control of Your Title and Tagline-
I just agonized over my title and tagline. I listened to what they had to say and it made sense, plus I didn’t know I could change it. So I went from:
Tessa Can Do It!
Surviving with Bipolar Disorder
and changed it to:
Advocate for Invisible Illnesses!
Surviving with BiPolar Disorder, Fibromyalgia, etc.
Don’t You Forget About Me – prompt by daily post
Don’t You Forget About Me
Imagine yourself at the end of your life. What sort of legacy will you leave? Describe the lasting effect you want to have on the world, after you’re gone.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I am working hard to follow in my dear mother’s footsteps. She passed less than 2 years ago and her legacy lives on and I am trying to be the one to keep this legacy going. She was a woman of God and she would help anyone who needed it no matter what. Even up to the end when the Parkinson’s Disease really took over and caused Dementia. She was honored in the local newspaper and known around the area for her “Course in Miracles.”
